AI That Sees Your Yard — Fully Wireless, Even Under the Trees

The S4 is an AI robot lawn mower that maps and mows your yard entirely on its own — even under a dense tree canopy where GPS-based mowers lose signal. 3D LiDAR builds a precise map of your lawn while Vision AI reads the path ahead in real time. It's completely wireless — battery-powered with no power cord and no cables trailing across the grass; it runs by itself and returns to the dock to recharge. And because it actually sees what's ahead, it slows and steers around the hoses, toys, planters, and flower beds most yards are full of.

Different zones different schedules

Front yard gets mowed Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. Backyard Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Different heights for each because the back gets more shade and I keep the bluegrass taller there. All set up in the app in about 10 minutes. Multi-zone is one of those features I didn't think I needed until I had it. Took one star off because the mower sometimes takes a weird long route between zones instead of the shortest path. Not a big deal but it wastes battery.

Hey Aaron — the inter-zone routing can be optimized by adjusting the zone transition path in the app's advanced map editor. Give it a try and let us know if it helps! — SUNSEEKER Tech

Quick math on the value

Quick math: $85/month lawn service x 12 months = $1,020/year. The S4 paid for itself before the end of year one. And unlike my old lawn guy, it shows up on time every time. Bermuda grass is looking thick and healthy with the frequent light cuts. No more scalping.

Different Cut Heights for Front vs Back

I keep my front yard at 2 inches for a manicured look and my backyard at 3 inches for the kids. No manual mower made switching easy. The S4 lets me set different cut heights per zone in the app — setup took 25 minutes for both areas. Two weeks in, each yard looks exactly how I want. Front is tight and clean, back is lusher for the kids to play on. One rescue when it hit a new garden gnome my wife placed. Fantastic.

Narrow 3-Foot Passage — No Problem

My yard has a narrow 3-foot passage between the house and fence, plus a terraced garden area. I never thought a robot mower could navigate this layout. The S4 mapped the tight corridor on the first try — 25 minutes total setup. Two weeks later, it moves through the passage perfectly every single time. Only wish it could cut slightly closer to edges, but honestly that's minor.

Robot mowers always seemed like a gimmick until this one

Robot mowers always seemed like a gimmick to me. Expensive toys for people with too much money. Then my back gave out and pushing a mower became a real problem. The S4 was my Hail Mary and I'm genuinely impressed. No wires to bury, no GPS signal issues, just draw the map and let it go. My bluegrass looks better than when I was cutting it myself. Swallowed my pride and I'm glad I did.

L-Shaped Yard with Tight Corridors

My L-shaped yard has a 4-foot-wide walkway connecting front and back, plus a noticeable downhill slope. Almost bought a competitor but the S4's 80cm narrow passage spec sealed the deal. Setup took 30 minutes due to the tricky layout. Two weeks in and it navigates the corridor and slope daily without a single intervention. Systematic mowing means no missed strips even in the tightest spots.

Cancelled my lawn contract after one month

One month with the S4 and I called to cancel my lawn maintenance contract. $110/month saved. The mower runs on a schedule, doesn't need gas, doesn't wake up the neighborhood, and cuts more consistently than a crew rushing through 20 yards a day. ROI is clear.

40% Slope — S4 Didn't Even Flinch

Everyone told me my side yard was too steep for a robot mower — easily a 40% grade. I was nervous spending this much on something that might just tumble downhill. The S4's 42% slope spec gave me confidence. Setup took 20 minutes. Three weeks of daily mowing on that slope and it hasn't slipped once. The all-wheel drive is the real deal. Even the incline cut lines look professional.

Great to hear, Derek! The AWD system is built for exactly those conditions.

Handles Slopes with Confidence

My backyard has noticeable slopes, and I was worried about traction. The S4 climbs steadily and maintains a consistent cut even on uneven ground. No slipping, no torn grass — very impressed with the stability.

Pet-Friendly & Quiet Operation

With two dogs at home, safety and noise matter. The S4 runs quietly and avoids obstacles reliably. My pets are not bothered at all, and the lawn stays neat without loud gas mower noise.

Great nav, firmware update reset my zones

I want to be fair because the core product is excellent — the LiDAR navigation under my tree cover is the best I've used, full stop. The reason for three stars: a firmware update a few weeks in reset my no-go zones and a couple of my settings, and I didn't realize until it mowed over an area I'd blocked off. Re-drawing them took ten minutes so it's not catastrophic, but an update shouldn't quietly wipe custom zones. Support was helpful once I reached them, just a longer wait than I'd hoped.

Nathan — you're completely right, a firmware update should never clear your no-go zones, and we owe you a straight answer: it was a settings-migration bug in that release and it's fixed in the current firmware, which now preserves zones through updates. Please update when you can, and if anything looks off our team will walk your map back with you. We're also trimming support wait times — sorry you sat in the queue. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Love it, mapping walk could be clearer

Really happy with how it performs under my oaks. My one small critique is the in-app mapping walk instructions could be a little clearer for first-timers — I wasn't sure how close to the edge to walk. Figured it out on the second try and it's been perfect since.

Appreciate this, Grace — you're right the mapping-walk guidance can be clearer, and we're improving that in-app prompt. As a rule of thumb, walk about a foot inside your true edge and the offset handles the rest. Glad it's been perfect since. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Excellent, small wet-grass note

Navigation is genuinely impressive under my trees and I have zero complaints there. The only thing I'd flag is that on damp mornings the clippings clump a bit more than I'd like. Doesn't affect where it goes at all — it still navigates perfectly — I just let the lawn dry a touch before it runs and it's fine.

Thanks for the fair note, Steven — you nailed the fix. Letting things dry an hour and bumping the schedule to a bit later in the morning cuts the clumping. Navigation staying solid regardless is the LiDAR doing its job. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Best decision after two failed mowers

I'm on my third robot mower and the first two — both GPS-based — could not deal with my tree canopy. Constant errors, cutting in circles, getting lost. I almost gave up on the whole category. The S4's LiDAR mapping was a night-and-day difference the first day. It knows exactly where it is regardless of the shade, and the wire-free setup meant I wasn't out another weekend burying cable. Wish I'd started here.

Two failed mowers is a rough road, Patricia — we're really glad the LiDAR finally gave you a system that stays found under the canopy. Thank you for giving robot mowers one more chance. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Handles my weird shady lot

Mid-size yard, lots of tree cover, irregular shape. It maps it all and doesn't get confused. Cut is clean and even.

Bought it for my mom

My mom's yard is small but has a bunch of old oaks, and she can't handle a push mower anymore. Set the S4 up for her in one afternoon — the mapping walk was easy to follow — and now it just handles everything. She texts me pictures of it working like it's a pet. Worth every penny for the peace of mind.

Shady backyard, solved

My backyard barely sees direct sun and every satellite-based mower I researched had reviews complaining about signal loss under trees. LiDAR sidesteps that entirely. It's been flawless in the dappled light where I fully expected it to struggle.

wire free setup in about 20 minutes

No trenching, no wire, no calling a company. Did the mapping walk and it was cutting inside of half an hour. Wooded lots rejoice.

CES honoree and you can tell

Read it was a CES 2026 honoree and figured that was hype. Then I watched it navigate my half-shaded, oddly shaped yard without a single hiccup. It's genuinely smart.

The LiDAR is the whole point

I have three big maples and my old GPS mower would completely lose its mind under the canopy — wandering, stopping, cutting the same stripe twice. The S4 maps with 3D LiDAR so shade means nothing to it. It just knows where it is. If you have a wooded lot, this is the one. Everything else I tried failed under the trees.

This is exactly the problem LiDAR was meant to solve, Andre — thrilled it's steady under your maples where GPS gave up. Enjoy the shade. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Great mower, one firmware update caught me off guard

Let me be clear the LiDAR is fantastic and it's the reason my shaded backyard finally gets mowed properly. The reason for three stars is a firmware update a few weeks back reset my no-go zones and I didn't notice until it clipped the edge of a garden bed. Re-drawing them took ten minutes and it's been fine since, but a heads-up or a settings backup would've saved the trouble. Still a good product, just wanted to flag it.

You're right to flag this, Nathan — a firmware update shouldn't wipe your no-go zones, full stop. We're adding a settings-backup-and-restore step to the update flow so zones carry over, and in the meantime support can note your account to confirm your current map is saved. Sorry it cost you a garden bed edge. — SUNSEEKER Tech

really good, app mapping walk could be clearer

Works great under my trees, no notes on performance. The only part that tripped me up was the initial mapping walk in the app, I wasn't totally sure how slowly to move at the corners. Figured it out on a second pass and it's been perfect since.

Thanks Carol — the mapping-walk pacing is the one spot the app could hand-hold more, and we're refining those on-screen prompts, especially at corners. Glad the second pass locked it in. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Excellent nav, minor wet-grass note

The LiDAR navigation is honestly the best I've used, never gets lost. One small thing: if I let it run on really wet morning grass it'll clump a little and I have to clear the deck. It still navigates perfectly, it's just a cutting thing. I run it midday now and it's spotless.

Appreciate the detailed note, Steven — you nailed the fix; midday or a slightly higher cut height keeps clumping down while the nav does its thing regardless of moisture. Thanks for separating the two, that's a helpful distinction for other shady-lot owners. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Great tech, occasional wet-grass clumps knocked off a star

The good first: the LiDAR is the real deal and it never gets lost in my heavily shaded backyard, which is why I bought it. My honest three-star reason is the wet-grass clumping — we get a lot of humidity here and even mid-day the grass rarely fully dries, so I do see clippings clumps more often than I'd like and have to blow them out occasionally. Navigation is never the issue, it's purely the mulching in damp conditions. Still glad I bought it, just setting expectations for humid climates.

Thanks for the thoughtful, climate-honest review, Monica. In persistent humidity, raising the cut height a notch and mowing more frequently (so it removes less at a time) makes a real difference in clumping — support can help you dial in a schedule for your area. We're also testing an anti-clump blade profile and will share it when it's ready. Appreciate you sticking with us. — SUNSEEKER Tech

Quiet, tidy, and smart about the shade

Runs a clean pattern and doesn't get confused when clouds roll in or under the maple. Happy customer.
