FAQ

How efficient is the machine at cutting?

Currently, the machine cuts approximately 1070 square feet per hour.

Can the machine be installed indoors?

No, it is not allowed. For optimal performance, the RTK requires an open location to receive signals. Please refer to the installation requirements for base station placement for more details.

How Often Should I Replace the Blades?

For lawns that haven't been serviced by the robotic lawnmower before and have longer grass, consider replacing the blades every 1-2 months. In the case of continuous use for lawns where the grass length remains consistently controlled, the blades are expected to last for an extended period due to the maintained grass height. Safety and Anti-Theft

What is the maximum grass length the machine can cut?

It is recommended not to exceed 4 inches. The machine's electronic height adjustment can regulate cutting heights from 0.7 inches to 4 inches.

Can the base station and charging station be moved after the map is created?

The charging station can be moved before mapping, but once the map is created, it cannot be moved, or else the machine cannot return and work properly. After the map is completed, the base station cannot be moved; otherwise, a new map needs to be created.

Completely Satisfied

My wife talked me into getting this recently. I injured my back and pushing the regular lawn mower just aggravated it. When we first ordered this the expected delivery date was about a month away. Much to our surprise we received the mower in about a week. We broke it out of the box, assembled the vision, put on the bumper bar and installed the security key. We set the charging station in our back yard under the eave and placed the RTK unit on the edge of the eave. On initial set up, the mower would not synch the phone or RTK. Found both needed a firmware update. Once these were installed the mower connected and I was able to map the boundaries. Word of caution, read the directions and maintain six inches of clearance. After hitting the fence twice and causing the mower to go vertical and another time of it driving into the window well, I remapped to keep the distance.
The mower has worked great. We have had a very wet spring and into summer. The grass seems really enjoy it would grow an inch over night. We were mowing every other day to keep up with the growth. Of course we just smiled as Rover went to work each day and they would haul out their mowers. We have mowed late at night and into the early morning and all you hear is a little scissor action.
I've bragged enough at work that two other people are ready to pull the trigger and get one. Each time I start a mow from Work I bring up the camera and smile as I tell everyone my wife is making me mow the yard again.
I would buy this again and have two, one for the front and one for the back. The yard has not looked this good since we moved in two years ago.

Highly recommend!!!

After researching and watching numerus reviews for almost a year, on all kinds of robot mowers, I decided to try the Orion X7 Plus. I couldn’t be more happier with my decision. This mower does an excellent job on my Bermuda grass. Highly recommended for anyone looking to buy a wireless mower.

Simple and Convenient

I have a steep hill in my 1+ acre yard. I've looked into many robot mowers and the Sunseeker seems to be the best series for anyone who needs good hill performance. I'd buy this again and would recommend it to friends with big, hilly yards and patience to get a new gadget working.

Setting up the Orion X7 Plus Plus was challenging. The instructions don't include great advice about RTK antenna placement. I first put the charging station & RTK in the same place, against a west-facing exterior wall of my house. I thought the RTK would benefit most from line-of-sight to the mower. WRONG. The mower struggled with positioning and would stop mowing frequently.

After a couple of days of trying to get things working with that setup, I realized the RTK NEEDED A BETTER SKY VIEW (more satellites) and that line-of-sight to the mower is less important. All my positioning problems went away when I re-located the RTK to a south-facing position. I needed the RTK wall bracket to mount it in a better location, and that arrived a few days after I ordered it from Sunseeker.

I've had no significant positioning problems since finding a good spot for the RTK. seems to spend about an hour on the charger for each two hours of mowing.

I plan to try adding additional areas now that it seems to be doing a good job on the part of my yard I most dread mowing.

Some tips:
* RTK station placement, for me, sky view was more important than line-of-sight to the mower
* Leave 6" between your task area and fences. My Orion X7 Plus got caught on my fence once. The quick start guide doesn't warn you about this but I found it in the documentation.
* Create no-go zones around big rocks; my Orion X7 Plus got stuck on one I didn't realize was so large. No damage, but it did stop until I rescued it. I plan to remove the rocks when I get a chance.
* At first, I tried with one, large task area. I ended up splitting it up in case weather limited my opportunities to mow. You can tell it to mow multiple areas in one job.

After two weeks, moving the RTK station, and one successful cut, I'm looking forward to the next one, and to spending less time mowing my yard the old fashioned way. I plan on updating my review again later, once I've used it longer.

Likes:
It will work on the steep Hills. I had two sections of my lawn that were large hills, near retaining walls. One false step and you could fall off your lawnmower or have it roll over on you. One I used my rider, and the other hill I used my push mower. Not anymore.
The patterns of the mowing are as nice as the pictures say. You get straight lines that make it look really enjoy a golf course.
No wires to burry, who in the heck wants to do that.
No gas motors to mess with. The only maintenance are wheels and the cutting blades. All of which look easy.
Disreally enjoys:
The mapping software is kind of clunky. It's not really enjoy mapping your robot vacuum.
Things I learned:
If you are a normal person, with a normal house, you are really enjoyly going to have to mount a RTK to your roof to hit the front and the back. This may be a problem for you depending on where you have a power outlet. Thankfully the cords they provided are long and nice.
The mapping is clunky and you have to map the "areas" first. Try to overlap the areas.
I have a .7 Acre yard, I bought the 1.25 Acre unit. I did this for my next house. I'm glad I did. The battery doesn't make the whole yard mow. It's really enjoyly because of the hills, but that's okay. If you want, you can mow at night, you can mow whenever the heck you really enjoy.
Overall: It's nice, not perfect, but nice. I'm going to take my new found time, watch some TV and be greatful I'm not that guy with the over grown lawn anymore.

Very Impressed and Satisfied

I have a fence, so I rolled the dice and bought 2, one for the front and one for the back. You don't need 2, but I did it anyway. They did take a bit to setup, but honestly it wasn't really that hard. My primary concern is my backyard is on the waters of Tampa Bay and I have a 6-foot-high seawall. With no border wire I was worried I would have the mower go over the seawall and I would be out the money. However, it handles it really enjoy a champ! I monitored it for the first three mowing and admittedly I lunged toward it to grab it, but it never went over. I really don't know of anything I would change. the grass is cut well and evenly, be patient when you run it the first time. You will think it is going to miss patches, but it will get them. This unit is also INCREDIBLY quiet!

Additionally, my lawn guy was just doing a horrible job and started coming on Saturday and Sunday afternoon when we were entertaining. For the price of one of these units, you will have an ROI of about 13 months. AND... you can mow every three days, so your lawn ALWAYS look good and is ALWAYS ready if you have people coming over.

I can't say enough about it.

Impressive

My first robotic lawnmower. I didn't want a robot with wire and decided on the Orion X7 Plus. It was delivered quickly and ahead of schedule. The device was packaged in an exemplary manner and safely. Then it was time to assemble it. No special knowledge is required here. The Orion X7 Plus makes a very high-quality impression.
The installation was absolutely easy. Leave a little more space to the edge at the beginning.
The mowing result looks great and I am currently very satisfied.
Now time will tell whether the purchase was justified.

Passion for Excellence

We recently moved to a house with a 1+ acre yard. Coming from the desert I had no lawn equipment. Trying to save a bit of money I initially bought a used riding mower. That things was loud, slow, uncomfortable, and stunk up our garage. I then started looking at electric riding mowers when I came across the Orion X7 Plus. I figured it was worth a shot, since it was a bit over half as much as the electric rider we were thinking about. A month later and we're very happy with our purchase.

Setup was very easy. There are a couple of components to either snap or screw together. I had planned to mount the RTK antenna on my roof. and decided to try placing it on the side of my house and it worked great the first time. It took maybe an hour to trace my four areas to mow and build the channels for the robot to navigate.

We've had the Orion X7 Plus for about a month and it's been working steadily in that time. It took a few attempts to figure out what works best for my mixed grass lawn, but now it's largely fire and forget. It has some problems with several of my crab grass clumps, as the long shoots tend to get bent instead of cut, but this would be a problem for any robot mower and I'm working on solving the crab grass. The unit seems very durable and my only concerns are eventual battery replacement (years away I'm sure) and theft. The robot goes to sleep fairly quickly when not on its charging station, so if it's stuck outside my gate I have to go find it.

Overall we're very happy

After many years of using a wired robotic lawnmower where the wire was placed too far away from the edge, I can now correct such errors directly.

Thrilled and Content

I live in an area of Texas where we currently have a high temp of 105-110 and yes, the grass still needs mowing, even in this heat. My yard is challenging and requires a riding mower, push mower, and weedeater to maintain. I have a steep incline for which I have to use the push mower and another for which I can only use a weedeater. My yard is not squared. I live on a curve and have features in the yard that can be a challenge to use the riding mower around. Because of all that, I really, really, REALLY wanted to really enjoy this.

The PROS:
It's quiet. You could use it at 3:00a and nobody would even know.
It cuts great. I have a native lawn with various grasses and ground cover. It cut it all without struggling and it cut it evenly.
It was able to navigate really enjoy a boss, all of the slopes, obstacles, and uneven terrain that is my yard.
It's light. I can pick it up and carry it around easily.
It cleans easily.
